Braking Blades and Learning New Skills at MAC's Jewelry Workshop

I recently taught a beginning metalsmithing class in the newly renovated jewelry studio at the Mendocino Art Center. Most Students had no jewelry making experience but were ready to experiment with new techniques including sawing, hammering, and soldering.  We broke a lot of saw blades and the students made some beautiful pieces of jewelry.  I want to thank my class for all their patience and fearlessness to try something new!  After seeing everyone’s creations, I’m really exciting to work on new ideas in my own studio.  Thanks for the inspiration! -- Tara Turner
