“Forest Visions” is a collection of jewelry, sculpture, and paintings by Isabel Rucker. She creates art to capture her natural surroundings, and here she presents inspirations drawn from the Mendocino Coast redwood forests. She is a lapidary (a gemstone shaper) and carved the gems used in the jewelry in this collection. Green jade from Mendocino County, red petrified dinosaur bone from Utah, and white agate from the Rocky Mountains reflect forest greenery, redwood bark, and coastal fog. Larger pieces in the exhibit are hanging glass sculptures illustrating redwoods, sunbeams, and foliage canopies. Watercolor paintings highlight visions of the flora and fauna.
Isabel Rucker is a multi‑disciplinary artist living on the Mendocino coast of California. She connects visual themes with
many media to explore color, shape, and environment. A professional jeweler, she fabricates pieces in silver and gold and specializes in shaping gemstones sourced from the region.
She loves to draw, and every collection begins outdoors, where she gathers imagery in her sketchbook and imagination.
Throughout her varied works, she inspires appreciation for the wonders and preservation of the outdoors.
