Isabel Rucker Jeweler "My metal textures recall abstract patterns and movements seen in the wild and capture glints of sunlight." |
|
Isabel Rucker's jewelry is hand wrought and elegant in design. It features glittering hammered surfaces and hand carved gemstones.
She is passionate about the natural world and her jewelry is connected to this through regionally sourced stones, like jade from our Mendocino County. She tools surface textures that recall abstract patterns and movements seen in the wild. And she uses hammering techniques to capture and reflect sunshine. Isabel fabricates her jewelry using many processes including cold forging, tooling, hammering, and torch soldering. She custom builds her stone settings and carefully sets each stone. She carves many of her stones with lapidary equipment. She has exhibited in galleries, been commissioned to create public sculptures, and was a resident artist at the Jentel Foundation. She has a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Oregon where she focused on metalsmithing and painting, and she is currently studying to become a GIA Graduate Gemologist. |
Isabel returned to the California coast from the Rocky Mountains in 2020 and now lives in Fort Bragg where she enthusiastically explores the coastal wilderness. For more info: www.isabeljewelry.com Instagram: @isabeljewelry |
