Welcome to our Newest Guest Member, Ceramist, Heather Law
"My artwork is a dramatic depiction of American material consumerism and the resulting waste it creates. I use clay as a tool to educate the viewer on environmental concerns mainly focused on single-use plastic packaging." While attending graduate school, Law enrolled in a Garbage Archeology class and discovered her passion for trash, mainly single-use plastic packaging for food. Heather Law has been working with clay for over 20 years. She is currently a professor at Mendocino College and runs a small production business in Ukiah, California. Guest Membership Opportunity
Northcoast Artists is currently looking for qualified artists to apply for guest memberships. Jewelers, especially, are urged to apply, although artists from all mediums will be considered.
Becoming a guest member is required before applying for a full membership. This allows the prospective artist to see what it's like to work in a cooperative gallery before making a decision on whether or not to apply for full membership. Download an application here. |
