"From conception we are one with Nature, bathed in her ocean, rocked by wave-like rhythms."
DOLORES M. CLARK, PHOTOGRAPHY Specializing in Black * White Compositions
As a Photographer as well as a Psychotherapist & Craniosacral therapist, I have found persons of all ages including babies respond positively to images of nature: the still mountain lake, the majesty of the ancient trees, the flock of birds silouhetted against the sunset, the rhythm of the ocean, the touch of a hand, and the power of honest feelings expressed by the eyes. From conception we are one with Nature, bathed in her ocean, rocked by wave-like rhythms. We develop as spiral mushroom forms, unfurel like ferns, and sprout limbs like the forest trees. We thrive on sunshine, clean water, and earth's nutrients. So it is not surprising that focusing on scenes of Nature lower our blood pressure, and balance the body's system, and bring us to a place of deep joy and peace.
In my photography I seek to capture not only the beauty of Nature, but also her expressions of stillness, of the balance of light and dark, and of her repeating patterns from the spiraling of the greater cosmos to the spirals in sea shells and in our hip bones and even in our heart. And we in turn repeat her patterns in our body rhythms, in our music, in our mythology, in our architecture, and in our life path. We are made of the same molecules of all Earth's forms and develop in the pull and spin of the fabric of the cosmos. At the deepest levels of consciousness we relate to our beautiful Mother Earth as One. Her beauty and fragility in the immense universe is ours. Being one with the ocean or a forest glade or gazing deeply into a photograph that captures the essence of aliveness, connects us at the cellular level with Creation. Conscious perception and comprehension of the Miracle that is Life inspires my gratitude and sustains my artistic expression.
