Press Release

During the month of November, Northcoast Artists Gallery features jewelry by Victoria Bard and embroidered treasures by Sandra Lindstrom. As the title promises, "rose, gold and indigo" inspired this latest body of work. The artists saw these primary colors "with a twist."

Victoria's gold, silver, and bronze pieces incorporate large hand-cut gemstones into multi-piece wonders of geometric design. Her rings, earrings, and pendants are cast in images of flowing seaweed or lingering grape vines and show the jeweler's love for everything Mendocino.

Sandra Lindstrom's embroidered velvet jewelry boxes, needle books and other sewn items turn useful items into objects d'art. The ornamental boxes are fabricated with hand dyed silk and ribbons and one wonders at the patience this kind of work demands.

The show runs from Nov. 2- Dec. 4, with a First Friday Reception on November 2 from 5 to 8 pm. Meet the artists and enjoy delicious refreshments.
